Week 2 Preview:
8:00 Game Beavers Vs London
Battle for first place
The top story on this game is the breaking news coming from Beavers Camp. During a practice held this week by the Beavers, Beavers star player Aaron Harari was carried off the ice after suffering a season ending ankle injury. It seemed that the Ice was not zambonied properly and Aarons skate got caught it a rut, causing his ankle to go one way and the weight of his body to go another way. The league would normally suspect Joey Cohen for putting a trap on the ice, but since Joey is on Aarons team it really must have been a freak accident. Aarons doctor commented, saying it was a broken fibula and he will need to be sidelined for the reminder of the season.
Beavers GM/ Capitan Morris Dabah has been working the lines trying to find a replacement for Aaron. Rumor has it he has picked up All Star Defenseman Raffi Hassin, this can only be confirmed if Raffi will actually show up to the rink on Sunday. Now adding another D this will force Morris to put Ikey on offense and we all know that has not been a good recipe for success in the past. The team who was the favored from the draft now has to face some obstacles.
On the other side of the Rink is the London Knights. Leaving the draft not many people thought this team would have would it takes to compete. But they completely shut down all the nay sayers by coming out flying in week 1 and scoring 6 goals to put them at 1-0. Lets see if they can carry over that win to this week, or did they loose momentum due to the long break?
9:30
Phil-thys ve Puckerz
Who will earn here first win?
That is the headline for this weeks matchup between the Phil-thys and Puckerz. in week 1 the Philthy had a commanding 3-1 lead going into the third, but they gave up 5 goals in the third for a devastating loss. This week they face the challenge of playing with out their starting goalie Abie Chera and their 2nd round pick David Cabasso. With David scoring 2 goals last week who will step up for the Phil-thys and score?
The Puckerz face a challenge this week, not only looking for there first win but they are looking for their offense. It took them almost 2 and half periods in week one to finally put a goal on the board. Where they able to work on this during the break? Will there 2nd line guys actually show up to rink to play? But the biggest question is will Bailey play like the Bailey we know?
See you on the ice on Sunday!
